About Us

A game like this one takes a team to build.
Sarah Smith-Robbins PhD aka Intellagirl: Sarah  is the Senior Director of Emerging Technologies at Kelley Executive Partners at Indiana University as well as a member of the Marketing faculty at the Kelley School of Business where she teaches digital and social media marketing courses.
Sarah’s work has been featured in various sources such as The New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, Educause Review, and Training and Development magazine. She also wrote Second Life for Dummies back when Second Life was actually new. Her research focuses on communication practices and adoption trends in social media, virtual worlds and video games. Sarah spends her days designing games, ranting about social technologies in education and business, and fighting the mis-perceptions about girl gamers and girl geeks.

Maggie Ricci: Maggie helps faculty to develop online and hybrid courses, and experiments with new tools and approaches to enable teaching and learning in the online environment. She is interested in Web 2.0 technologies, online activities, games, simulations, and virtual worlds, although she still believes that the teacher is the key to successful learning. Her background includes computer programming, grant administration, online curriculum development, and teaching in both traditional and online settings.
Maggie has taken the role of a Telecommunications professor for the game. Her puzzles tie together celebrities, movies, and even the Oscars to demonstrate how learning about media can be aided by games.

Gabriel Recchia:
Gabe is a graduate student in the Cognitive Science department at IU, and part of Dr. Michael Jones' Cognitive Computing Laboratory. He works on computational models of semantic memory, and occasionally give talks on how games can change the world (in a good way).

Gabe plays the role of the History professor in the game and created some amazing puzzles based on manuscripts, lost languages, and early technologies.

Asmalina Saleh aka antaera:
Lina stalks the halls of the Learning Sciences department and works with Dr. Joshua Danish on science learning among first and second graders. She integrates play and learning technologies in her designs and focuses on informal environments. In her spare time, she slays dragons and geeks out over Tolkien (old English stuff really), which breathed life to Irene Peabody.

Ellen Jameson:
Ellen is a Visiting Research Associate at Indiana University's Center for Research on Learning and Technology, and Lead Content Designer for One Planet Education Network. She is building games that can be used to facilitate education and discussion around issues in environmental science. In her spare time, she whistles and potrays the energetic Melanie D'Anogaster, at least for the next couple of weeks!
